...over and over repeatedly!!! Been there? We all have. Sometimes it's messy, so messy that you’re left sitting in a lemony disaster. Or at least it feels that way. But the good news is you can add a little sugar and what was meant to take you out and turn you sour ends up refreshing you like an amazing glass of lemonade on a hot summer's day.
You've heard the saying, "You can get bitter or you can get better." Man that's so much easier to tell someone else when everything is hunky dory for you, isn't it?! But when those lemons are hitting hard enough to leave bruises is when we have the choice to get better by adding the sweetness of His Word to our situation or to become bitter.
People disappoint us and do things they say they would never do. People have situational ethics, change into completely different people than who we knew them to be and we find ourselves in all kinds of tough spots. In the same way, we disappoint people and sometimes lack the self awareness to recognize that we brought the sour situations upon ourselves.
Next time we find ourselves in a pickle like this, let’s commit to add some sugar from the Word of God and watch Him do what only He can do. He has our backs, covers us with His favor like a shield, and fills us with His joy if we will run to Him when things go sour! For those of us who love Him, He works all things together for our good! That sounds a lot like - When life throws us lemons, God makes for us lemonade! 🍋🍋🍋
