Pure Joy!

Pure Joy!

Today concludes our family's Christmas ski trip and it was seriously pure joy. We turned in our skis each day to demo different skis trying to find our faves incase we decide to buy them. As many of you readers know I am surrounded by lots of testerone in my family. Even our dogs are boys. Stands to reason skiing, well snow boarding for the boys, is hoped to be part of our lives for many years to come. Fine by me as I introduced them all to it. I love it! Okay so the point of this blog...

The skis I demoed today were called Pure Joy by Head. Loved them! Favorite skis of the week. All day those words rang in my head as I gracefully (Ha! In my mind) whisped down the slopes. Pure Joy! Just saying or reading or hearing those words bring peace to me. As soon as I got home I looked up scriptures about joy and thought "What a great blog for today." This verse jumped out loud and clear to me as to how to have pure joy in our lives....

 “A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭15:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

http://bible.com/114/pro.15.23.nkjv

I've heard the latter part of that verse quoted hundreds of times and have quoted it myself more than a few times.

But the first part of that is uuuuhmazing! Never really "seen" it before. You want more joy in your life? How are you answering things you come up against? The words we speak in answer to this issue and that problem will determine the level of joy we get to enjoy! Woa!

Reminds me of this verse.....

“The one who guards his mouth preserves his life; The one who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭13:3‬ ‭NASB‬‬

So we all can probably think of areas of our lives that have come to ruin. I'm thinking of an area in my life as I type this blog in a picturesque snowy cabin tucked in the mountains of Utah. That area came to ruin due to words spoken out of my mouth. Funny not funny how fast words can fly out of our mouths and take years to repair. So then comes to mind areas of my life that are flourishing with life and pure joy --- same reason --- words of life that have been spoken out of my mouth.

Lesson learned ~ Want pure joy? Speak the right things out of your mouth when answering situations that arise. I think I'll be more vigilant in this as well after today. Thanks #HeadPureJoySkis and also #SkiNSee for this reminder today!

{{ If you ever ski Park City rent from them! What a great group of guys who know their stuff. Tell Jeff I sent you.  }}

I pray as we head into 2017 that we do so experiencing a year filled with PURE JOY!

Hope you had a happy Monday! If not so far, then answer things in such a way to finish today out with pure joy!

Happy Monday!
