Enter His gates with thanksgiving in our hearts. Enter his courts with praise.
Words connect us to God.
Wonder how much it would change our relationships if this is how we entered the room with our friends and family? How often do we enter our offices, homes, or a lunch appointment with a friend with complaining or negativity? What if our words were constantly filled with thanksgiving and praise?
Words connect us to eachother.
The Bible says to LET the peace of God rule in your heart and soul. So it's up to us if we are going to let peace guide us through life or stress or discord! What that verse means in more detail is outlined in the amplified version. Check this out:
“And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ's] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].”
Colossians 3:15 AMP
Interesting to me that being thankful (living appreciative) with others as if we are all part of one body and giving praise continually rather than complaints to God seems to be part of the key to letting peace rule in our hearts.
I don't know about you but when I have the least amount of peace is when there is no peace in a certain relationship that is important to me. I saw this verse in a new light as I studied it a while back. The peace I am looking for with people I love is often dependent on the words of thankfulness spoken. That also has a connection to us being in unity as one with others. What's in our hearts comes out of our mouths. When we are constantly praising God we are going to be thankful and when we are thankful we are going to live with others in an appreciative manner. When we live thankfully with eachother we are one and appreciative of eachother. When we are appreciative of eachother we let the peace of God rule and reign in our hearts. How great is that?!
Need more peace? Increase your spoken and expressed thankfulness and praise. And watch your joy skyrocket!
